I plunged and got my first Erio figure, for a very much inflated price now that CM Corporation had gone out of business.
The pose is really well done. Erio is sitting in a basket of a bicycle that is about to dive down from a cliff into the sea. She has this signature gullible look on her face, legs stretched out against the wind giving a peek under her skirt, only to emphasize her overall aura of innocence.
When I opened the box this looked like a cheap figure due to the lack of attention to details and generic paint job: injection molding seams are readily visible on her head; her dress looks like it was just dipped in paint; her bang has this weird-looking shading that looks like someone just spray-painted a white spot; plus what kind of hair is transparent at the tip?! None of the finesse found on Alter and GSC figures are present here.
However, she is, to my surprise, very photogenic. That white spot on her hair looks natural under many different types of lighting, and simply disappeared in others. The translucent hair just begs for back-lighting. Her eyes are painted in a way that “follows” the camera in a wide range of angles; and the clever way that her dress can be removed makes for some interesting shots.
(FYI, she’s not completely naked underneath)
